Calling all Oasis Fans

Slide Oasis, a tribute band playing all of the hits, fan favourites and classic Oasis songs, are set to play live at St Erme Community Centre to raise funds for charity.

Taking place on 9 July, all profits from the event will go to Citizens Advice Cornwall. Doors open at 7pm on the night with music starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 each and are available on EventBrite.

Citizens Advice Cornwall provides free, independent and confidential advice on a wide range of subjects for everyone in the community. Our vital services include advice on benefits, debt, housing, relationship issues, employment and redundancy, consumer and legal issues. This is available through face to face appointments, online, on the phone or by text ensuring they are accessible for everyone who needs them.

Last year Citizens Advice Cornwall helped over 9,000 people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by writing-off debt worth a total of over £1 million and gaining income worth £8.1 million.

Band member, Mark Cranmer, said: “When I asked the guys in the band if they would be happy to play a benefit for Citizens Advice Cornwall, they all said “yes” without hesitation. We all understand the crucial help Citizens Advice provides to people in seeking social justice and providing people with a voice to assert their rights. We all believe in the mission and are proud to be able to give our time and energy to help, even if only in a small way.”

Community Fundraising Manager, Tamsin Chapman-Gunner, added: “We are delighted that Slide Oasis are putting on this concert for us. As a charity events like these are instrumental in helping us to continue to provide our services to everyone who needs them.”

“More people sought our help last year and this number is rapidly growing as rising energy and fuel prices, increasing rents and National Insurance contributions are affecting more people.”
