Research and Campaigns
Research and Campaigns is a vital element of Citizens Advice work – looking into the policies and issues which have a negative effect on people’s lives and lobbying central and local government, public agencies and business groups for change.
Working across the county, the Research and Campaigns Team provides data and evidence to highlight underlying problems and feeds-in to national data collections and campaigns. In 2021/22 we worked on the national Scams Awareness Fortnight in Cornwall using social media, stands at local bank branches, local radio interviews and talks to groups and societies to highlight the issue and promote practical ways to avoid the scammers.
We published a report on delays to repairs in social housing, which was covered extensively by regional TV and local media and secured commitments from housing associations to improve the situation. In 2022 we are working on a major report on hidden homelessness in Cornwall.
